Implementation Advisory Committee
The Southern Willamette Forest Collaborative (SWFC) formed the Implementation Advisory Committee (IAC) to bring stakeholders together to provide consensus recommendations for restoration projects in the watershed.
To tackle economic and ecological challenges simultaneously, the SWFC is working with the land managers to develop projects that integrate ecological objectives while employing the local workforce and supporting the local economies. Collaboration is increasing the pace and scale of restoration by developing social agreement, building trust and exploring innovative ways to do business. The SWFC facilitates learning sessions and field trips to learn about terrestrial landscapes, invasive species, habitat, vegetation management, biomass, fire, recreation, aquatics, roads, and the restoration economy. The committee then holds roundtable discussions to determine priorities for project implementation. The two main projects types that the committee is engaged in are Forest Service stewardship projects and Oregon Department of Forestry good neighbor authority projects.
Regular meetings are the second Thursday of the month, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, at the Middle Fork Ranger District
