Collaborative Resources

Collaborative Community

Collaboration processes have become common practice in Oregon to resolve complex forest management issues. Collaborative groups enable stakeholders to work together to advance forest restoration projects that improve the management of natural resources to benefit both the environment and surrounding communities. Most forest collaboratives in Oregon are place-based collaboratives, meaning they engage in forest management issues near the rural communities they are located in.

Oregon's Forest Collaboratives

Currently there are thirty on forest collaborative groups in Oregon. With the addition of the SWFC, there are four local forest collaborative groups working with each Ranger District on the Willamette National Forest. The SWFC focuses on issues that impact the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest and adjacent forestlands.
